Peter Rees (born 1966) is a film and television writer/director and producer. He created and developed the concept and was the executive producer of the television series MythBusters.[1] Rees created, cast and executive produced seventy episodes, and twelve specials.

Prior to MythBusters, Peter created, developed, produced, wrote and directed more than 30 hours of factual programming for international broadcast.

Peter was born on a Naval base in Death Valley California, but grew up in Sydney Australia. He is a graduate of Australia's leading broadcasting and production institution, the Australian Film, Television and Radio School. He has a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature/ Historical Archaeology, a Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Studies and is qualified to drive a forklift and shoot a handgun safely in the State of California.
